This
very attractive villa, originally an old mill, is situated just a few kilometres
from the village of Pietrasanta, famous for its long tradition of marble
sculpture. The owner of the property is a collector of modern art and there
are many modern paintings and sculptures in the villa. The furniture is
also modern in style, but the house has otherwise been restored in keeping
with the character of the original mill. The antique wheel has been retained
and is visible from a glassed-in hall. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful,
large lawned garden with olive groves and fruit trees all around. There
is a swimming pool to the front of the house and there is also an outdoor
dining area for summer meals.
The location provides an ideal base for visiting the beaches of the
Versilian coast which are a 10 minute drive away, and also the main Tuscan
towns, with Lucca (a half hour drive), Florence (80 kms) and Siena ( 120
kms), reachable by motorway.
The owner lives close to the villa, in an independent house with
private garden. |
